Do the first five years of our lives determine who we are? I was about three when Dad gave me my first camera (or maybe it was my sister’s and I just “borrowed” it). It was blue, like well-worn jeans, and even though it never took any pictures, I was hooked after I heard the first shutter click. That also got me started on all things techie like smartphones, vintage and brand new watches, getting my website to work, digital cameras, digital gadgets, digital anything.
Writing
As for writing, I started writing for more selfish reasons than wanting to change the world: Words amaze me. I got my first big break when I was five years old: I learned to read. It was both simple and profound. Ever since then, I’ve written and have been contributing editor for various newspapers and magazines in Asia.
